KHU signs cooperation agreement with KANC


Kyung Hee University (KHU) entered into cooperation agreement on research support with Korea Advanced Nano Fab Center (KANC) on April 11 in the office of Vice President of Suwon campus.

KANC located at Gwanggyo Techno Valley will hold the ceremony for the completion on this April 28. It has been established by Gyeonggi Province and Ministry of Science and Technology to enhance national competitiveness and contribute to industry development.

KANC is constructing user-oriented open and stand-alone facilities of Nano Fab Center which are able to be jointly utilized by the industry, academic and research communities to research and develop nano device and compound semiconductor-oriented non-silicon. Not only this, there is a program training manpower specializing in nano technology by practice-based education and exercise. Through these, people can expect research infrastructures among industry, academic, and research communities.

Through this agreement, KHU will get benefits such as KHU’s own research space security in the KANC, low price loan of equipments in the center including semiconductor patterning and cleaning, and KANC’s cooperation when received an order about nano research project.

Choue Won-kyung, vice president of KHU said, “We have had difficulty in research development since clean room and measuring instruments that are necessary for nano technology development are quite expensive. These days, we can find that nano technology research and commercialization gets improved when we see the figures showing that domestic nano research manpower has been increased 4 times for 4years and the number of nano- related companies has been increased 3times. At this moment, I hope this agreement could be helpful to our university’s nano technology research environment.”
